International tournament in Moscow, Russia

On 18 and 19 February the largest international junior tournament in Russia was held in Moscow, the Open Championship of Russia with international participation. Two representatives from Bulgaria were invited and took part: Bogomil Kostov, under 14 and up to 50 kg, and the representative of Sports Karate Club Montana, Marin Enchevski, in the open division for under 18. With three wins Bogomil Kostov reached the final, where after a hard-fought bout he finished second. Marin Enchevski won two bouts, the most striking of them a knockout with a knee to the head over the champion of last year tournament. Unfortunately our competitor lost a disputed decision in his next bout and finished third.
