After a break of 22 years, Krasen Krastev, a student of Sports Karate Club Montana, returned in triumph to the world of Kyokushin karate with third place at the World Championship in Tokyo, Japan. In the semi-final a single judge flag was all that kept Krasen from getting the better of the enormous Siberian bear Anatoliy Lupalo, two metres and 120 kilograms, who pushed our competitor off the tatami with his sheer bulk. We did not take the world title, we only came close to it, but this is a great success for Krasen and for his teacher in Kyokushin karate, Petko Enchevski.
