After a break of more than 20 years, the 4th Balkan Championship was held on 13 March 2016 in the city of Varna, with divisions for juniors, youths, men and women, as well as veterans. Competitors from 6 Balkan countries took part, more than 200 in all. Three representatives of Sports Karate Club Montana competed in the under-18 junior championship: Marin Enchevski in the up to 80 kg division, and Georgi Georgiev and Tsvetomir Gospodinov in the over 80 kg division. After a very good performance, Georgi Georgiev became Balkan champion in the under-18 heavyweight division. Marin Enchevski finished third after a semi-final loss we did not expect, and Tsvetomir Gospodinov was fourth among the heavyweights.
Let us also recall that at the 3rd Balkan Championship, held in the city of Volos, Greece, the representative of Sports Karate Club Montana, Krasen Krastev, became Balkan champion in the men division and took the award for the fastest knockout.
